A friend recently sent me a message: “Booster meeting tonight at 7pm.” I read the note, sat back in my chair and contemplated my response for about two minutes. I then promptly responded, “Thank you for the invite, but I am not interested in attending booster meetings at this time.”
There are a million opportunities that come across our desks – a million things to do, a million directions life can push us, if we allow it. Why do we constantly say “yes” to things that provide no joy, no fulfillment, or no interest? While I am fully capable of helping with boosters, there are other areas in which I am also capable that will fill my passion bucket or allow me time with the people I love. Sometimes it is OK to simply say ‘no’!
