January 2024 Marketing Trends with Liz Whitehead
Jan 04, 2024Big updates ahead for email marketing in 2024!
by Liz Whitehead
Two of the largest email servers will be enforcing marketing standards as of February 1st, 2024. It’s very important for the future of your business reputation that you get these things in place as soon as possible.
Remove gmail, yahoo, or any other non-branded domain from your “from” address.
Set up a branded sending domain.
Set up a DMAC with p=none on your root domain.
Make sure your “from” address is reflective of your brand.
Make it easy to unsubscribe.
Keep spam complaints low.
A lot of these things have been best practice standards for email marketing professionals from the beginning. If you’ve worked with me in any capacity, you most likely have heard at least half of these on a regular basis. It’s always been important to make sure that the emails you are sending are from your domain and reflective of your brand.
It is also important to focus on building relationships and trust. This will keep your spam complaints low. Don’t make the only goal of your emails to “sell, sell, sell”. Find ways to make a connection with your customers and subscribers. There are many ways to incorporate sales while building trust and relationships. More on that in upcoming newsletters!
Klaviyo wrote an awesome article on the beginning steps to achieve these requirements. Here’s a quick link to access that information.
These changes may seem overwhelming, and that’s where I come in. You can join my free Facebook group where I will be posting updates, or you can reach out to me by emailing [email protected] if you’d like a more customized marketing plan for 2024.
